Profile
Laboratorium uji sensori dan ilmu pangan terapan adalah salah satu laboratorium di bawah pengelolaan Jurusan THP, FTP, UB. Laboratorium ini berdiri sendiri pada tahun 2016, setelah sebelumnya merupakan bagian dari Laboratorium Rekayasa Pangan dan Hasil Pertanian, Jurusan THP. Pengembangan laboratorium ini dilakukan untuk menjawab kebutuhan pasar khususnya industri pangan dan tren perkembangan ilmu pangan terkini. Ilmu sensori mulai bertransformasi secara progresif dengan peranan yang lebih aktif dan apresiasi dari pihak industri.
Mengingat bahwa industri berorientasi pasar atau kepuasan konsumen, maka ilmu sensoris dan pangan terapan merupakan ujung tombak yang sangat vital sehingga penelitian-penelitian aplikatif kini semakin mengarah pada consumer-based research agar teknologi/produk yang dikembangkan lebih berdaya guna. Pengembangan laboratorium ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kompetensi lulusan ITP dan mutu akademik jurusan THP, terutama yang berkaitan dengan kompetensi ilmu sensori dan pangan terapan.
